In My Mailbox (3)

Photobucket

So yeah, TOTALLY meant to get this up on Sunday, but eh, you know, that thing called life sometimes gets in the way, and I've been focused on trying to reply to all of the comments and emails I've gotten from you guys over the weekend (which I thank you for, by the way!). So now...BEHOLD! MY DESK! WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS! (Please ignore my walls, which are totally cluttered with maps of Walt Disney World and writing notes for some projects I'm working on.) This IMM is going to cover the last two weeks.

BOOKS BOUGHT
(Most with the aid of gift cards and Borders Bucks)
The Dragon of Trelian by Michelle Knudsen
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart
Unearthly by Cynthia Hand
The Dealer (Cherub Mission 2) by Robert Muchamore
Malice by Chris Wooding
Walt Disney Imagineering: A Behind the Dreams Look at Making MORE Magic Real by The Imagineers
Crossing Over by Anna Kendall
Two packs of Goosebumps books (by R.L. Stine). The first pack contains books 1-15, and the second pack contains 16-30. My best friend, Allie, and I were ecstatic to find these yesterday at Half Price for 10 bucks a pop. We loved these books as kids, and have been eager to reread them for a while now.

BOOKS FROM PAPERBACK SWAP
13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson

BOOKS WON
Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly (from Random Buzzers)
ARC of Vixen by Jillian Larkin (from Random Buzzers)

BOOKS RECEIVED FOR REVIEW
The Talisman of Elam (Children of Hathor #1) by Jim Mastro

BOOKS FROM THE LIBRARY
Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins
Savvy by Ingrid Law

This is probably the best haul that I've gotten in a while. I doubt the weeks after this will be as rich, unless Borders continues to throw cash at me. I joined their upgraded rewards program and since then it's been raining awesome coupons and Borders Bucks. I recommend joining, especially if you tend to spend a lot of money there.

So what did you guys get this week? Leave a link and I'll check it out! Oh, and just a reminder, if you haven't done so already, please check out my 100 Follower Giveaway. There's lots of great prizes, and plenty of time to enter! Contest ends on Feb. 7. Thanks!

Thanks! :D I'm really looking forward to reading all of these. <3
wow you got a lot of great books! imagineering <3 & I lovedddd Goosebumps too -- they were the biggest thing in 5th grade; everyone would swap books. I remember when my mom bought me the interactive choose-your-ending one I thought I was the coolest kid ever =P Also, I'm dying to read Hex Hall. Happy Reading Emi =)

YAY! ANOTHER GOOSEBUMPS FAN! :D My friends were really into Goosebumps too. We never traded them, but were always sat in a group and read them out loud during independent reading time. And YES! The interactive choose-your-ending ones were the best! I used to reread the books until I got the ending I wanted. What can I say? I liked surviving. xD

I'll definitely let you know how Hex Hall is. I'm excited to read it too. A lot of people have been happily gossiping about the sequel, so I have high hopes for the first book. :3
Hahah, ok. That makes me feel better to hear that you got all those books through giftcards... My brother and I were also reminiscing about Goosebumps the other day!!! My little sister is just starting to read chapter books and has discovered the epicness that is Goosebumps. Haha.

I unfortunately did not win Vixen from RandomBuzzers. Better luck next time for me, I guess! Happy reading :) Let me know what you think of Hex Hall!

Oh gods, no, I would never be able to afford all of these WITHOUT the help of other people's hard-earned money! (I don't have a job D:) I had to chip in some cash for some of the books, but if I did, it wasn't much. I think the most I paid was the $20 for the packs of Goosebump books. But they were such a bargain I couldn't resist. That's awesome that you and your brother were talking about them the other day! LE GASP. It's like we share a MIND. It's also really great that your little sister is now reading them too! They were some of the first chapter books I read as a kid. Show her the Eggs from Mars one! That was my favorite.

Dawww, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't win Vixen from RB. Actually...check your email. ;D
I'll be sure to let you know what I think of Hex Hall! I'm really looking forward to reading it, and have heard a lot of good things about it. Have you read it yet? :3
omg, goosebumps! I would have totally bought all those up too! I remember sitting in the children's room at the library just devouring them while my mom chatted. XD The choose-your-own adventure ones were always the best. Though they did give me a lifelong fear of ventriloquist dummies...

Great haul! Can't wait to hear what you think of Hex Hall. I've been wanting to try them out.

YAY! I'm not crazy! I just couldn't resist. I mean, seriously. Books 1-30, all for the low low price of $20 bucks?! AWESOME. I used to read them in the library too. And when the library closed, I'd make my parents take me to the bookstore. I loved it when the choose-your-own adventure ones came out. But I'd always reread them until I got the ending that I wanted. I hated dying or getting eaten by some killer monster or something.

I'll be sure to let you know what I think of Hex Hall! I've heard some really good things about it, so I have high hopes for the series. :3
Hey! Just wanted to let you know that I gave you the Stylish Blogger award! You can claim it here http://crazy-bookworm.blogspot.com/2011/01/stylis...

Anyway lol. Ok so laik... COOL I go the Talisman of Elam as well! Whoohoo! :) WHY ARENT WE READING ALONG?! And yay you got Hex Hall out of the library! :D And yaaay you also got a copy of Unearthly (which I still have yet to do xD). Which one of these fabulous books did you buy with my giftcard? :3

So yeah. You got an amazingness haul full of amazing. Happy reading, freind!

...Why not have two lamps for one desk? xD No, actually, I have two because I do most of my writing there and like it really well lit. I also don't have a ceiling light, so I use them to light my room.

I DIDN'T KNOW THAT YOU HAD IT TOO!!! D: If I had, I would have totally suggested that we do a read along since we only managed to get through a third of Vixen together. OTL Again, fail on our part...
I actually have not picked up a book with your giftcard yet. I don't want to spend it since the card is so cute. xD I've decided to save it for something uber special, like a new Tamora Pierce book or sommat like that. :D
Nice haul, Emi!

Thanks, Jenny!
Um, don't know how to tell you this...but...you've got an award waiting for you on my site! ^_^
Once upon a time...I had a desk exactly like that...then I got mad at it, and well...the pieces fit nicely into the trash once I was done beating it with an axe....lol I use to love goosebump books too! Good ol' R.L Stine! <3

And nice haul there. I adored Vixen, and Hex Hall was mighty amusing. I like Archer, that's all I'm sayin'! :)
Oh, Hex Hall! That's one of my favorites!
