Jan 9-23 In My Mailbox

Photobucket

Hey there guys! Once again it's time for IMM*. I've decided that I'm going to stick to doing memes every other week so that they don't make up the majority of my posts for each month. So here's the list of books that I've collected over the last two weeks. I sold my textbooks from last semester and received more money than I expected to get, so I put some of that towards books that I wanted:

BOOKS BOUGHT
(There are some really rockin' used bookstores in my area. I found all of these half-priced or for less.)
Wild Magic, Wolf-Speaker, Emperor Mage & The Realms of the Gods by Tamora Pierce (IN HARDCOVER!)
Little Brother by Cory Doctorow
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
The Book Without Words by Avi
Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan
Lady Carliss and the Waters of Moorue by Chuck Black (I'm normally not into Christan fiction, but the medieval fantasy stories in this series are really good.)
The Wake of Lorelei Lee by LA Meyer

BOOKS FROM PAPERBACK SWAP
Circles in the Stream (Avalon Web of Magic #1) by Rachel Roberts

BOOKS WON
None!

BOOKS RECEIVED FOR REVIEW
The Legend of Socket Greeny by Tony Bertauski
Kevin's Point of View by Del Shannon
How to Slay a Dragon by Bill Allen
The Branding by Micaela Wendel

BOOKS DOWNLOADED
Starlighter by Bryan Davis (downloaded from Barnes & Nobel's free Nook books)
The Healer's Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson (downloaded from Barnes & Nobel's free Nook books)
Angel Burn by LA Weatherly (NetGalley)
Cinderella: Ninja Warrior by Maureen McGowan (NetGalley)
Rage by Jackie Morse Kessler (NetGalley)
The Atomic Weight of Secrets by Eden Unger Bowditch (NetGalley)
The Cellar by A.J. Whitten (NetGalley)

BOOKS FROM THE LIBRARY
The Field Guide (The Spiderwick Chronicles #1) by Tony DiTerlizzi & Holly Black
Red Dragon Codex by R.D. Henham

Wow, when I look at it on paper I ended up grabbing more books than I thought. Like...a lot more. Ah well, at least I'm looking forward to reading all of 'em. Anyway, leave a comment with a link to your IMM and I'll check it out! I'll be replying to all unanswered comments and Follow Friday messages today during the Packer/Bears game. Until then, HAPPY READING, EVERYONE!

Sweet haul, Emi. Have fun reading them!

Oh, you can bet that I plan to. ;D
You see Before I Fall at the top of the pile? Yes, that was your doing. After I read your review I really wanted to read this book. I think it was destiny that I was able to find it for a few bucks at Half Priced Books. :) I'll be sure to let you know what I thought of it when I get around to reading it!
Ooh, nice hardcovers on the Tamora Pierce books - the Wild Magic series is awesome.

That's a great haul, enjoy!

Thanks! That's what I thought too. I already have the books in paperback (with the older covers, not the new ones with the photo manipulations), but once I saw these I knew I had to have them. The covers are really nice. :)
I love the way you set up your pictures. I swear, it looks like a bookstore display. XD

Really great haul. Have fun reading them all! ;D

Hahaha, thanks Liz! Maybe I should take my book display skills on tour. Or just include photos in my resume when I apply for a job at Borders or something and put my skillz to good use. xD

Thanks again, and happy reading to you too! You also had a great IMM this week. :D
Awesome bunch of books this week! I love the way you've arranged everything, too-- it does look like it belongs in a bookstore. :) I really want to read the Wild Magic series-- they've been on the TBR for a long time. Happy reading!

Why thank you, Kat! Maybe I SHOULD consider applying for a job at a bookstore. I can turn my book arranging skills into a profit. ;D If you haven't read the Wild Magic series, I highly recommend it. It's one of my favorites! Happy reading to you too, and thanks again for stopping by! <3
I remember loving Tamora Pierce's Alanna series back in the day, but have to admit that's the only one of series that I have read. I know her others are good, so I should probably sit down and read them someday.

Oooh, the Alanna series is awesome! If you loved those, then I highly recommend picking up the other books that take place in the Tortall world. Alanna makes an appearance in the first Wild Magic book, and is as spirited as ever. If you ever do get around to reading them, send me an email to tell me what you think! I hope you enjoy them. :)

Thanks for stopping by! :D
Haha, your pile makes me want to go visit my local secondhand book store.... I can't wait for tomorrow now. :) Happy reading!!!

DOOOOO IT. Secondhand bookstores are epic. You never know what you're going to find, and I love them even more now that I've finished Dash and Lily's Book of Dares. I kinda want to find a red moleskin notebook in Frugal Muse Books now. ;~;
Speaking of Dash and Lily.... I went to Strand. Every time I'm there I do end up buying a book but the red moleskins have been tempting me.... haha.
Yay for secondhand book stores!!! I always go crazy in those. Its dangerous to let me near them. Hehe. XD

Enjoy all your books!
Oooh good two weeks for you! Wanna check out my IMM?
